CARTÃO DO CIDADÃO
It is the new National Identity Card issued by the Portuguese government to its citizens. The new card was primarily designed to replace the older Bilhete de Identidade (Identity Card which is still in use, but not issued), and to combine other government documents (including social security documents, the National Health Service card, the taxpayer card and the voter registration card) in one secure card.
The Portuguese Consulate at Goa will now issue the CARTÃO DO CIDADÃO to all Portuguese Nationals residing in Goa.
The Documents required are as follows:
1. Document of identification original Indian Passport.
2. Additional documents of identification: ration card or electoral card
3. Police clearance certificate (up to 1 year from the date of issue). Not necessary for children < 12 years
4. Residence certificate
5. 2 photographs ( Passport Size)
